It is late autumn and the weather is turning cold. In the early morning, in the dark before the sunrise, Henry wakes up. He can hear the rooster crowing in the barn. Henry knows that it’s time to get up and help with the chores, but the room is cold, and the bed is warm… he snuggles down in the covers and tries to pretend he hasn’t heard the rooster.
“I wonder how the rooster knows that day is coming, even though it’s still dark?” Henry asks himself. Before he can think of an answer, he hears his Father calling: “Son, get up. It is time to tend to the beasts in the barn." “Yes Father, I’m coming,” says Henry.
